Virac policemen returned to its grateful owner a stolen motorcycle the lawmen recovered from a teenaged student last week in front of a local hotel.
A team led by SPO1 Salvador Aldave, Jr. brought Philip Tugay, 19, a CPIC student and resident of Rizal, Viga, to the police station after he was caught in possession of a black Honda XRM with no plate number at 11:10 P.M. of Oct. 8 in front of Rakdell Inn. The bike’s owner, Joseph Reyes, had reported the loss of the motorcycle last Aug. 12.
In another development, a resident of Cavinitan has claimed that two men on board a motorcycle robbed him of his cellular phone in Calatagan last week.
Renato Pelagio, Jr., 26, told the police that at about 1 A.M. of Oct. 10, he was at Calatagan when two men armed with a bladed weapon declared a hold-up and took his Panasonic flip-top cellphone. The two sped towards Calatagan-Tibang.
Meanwhile, a teacher at the Catanduanes National High School has complained to the police regarding the attitude of a tricycle driver who ordered her off the vehicle in favor of five other passengers.
Rosa G. Molina, 59, said that at about 6:30 A.M. of Oct. 8, she was already on board the tricycle driven by an unidentified man from San Isidro Village when the driver, seeing the prospect of five passengers flagging him down, stopped and forced her to get off in front of the Gelin residence. He told her to transfer to another passing tricycle before speeding away with the five people on board. Molina said she did not know the driver but wrote down the municipal tricycle franchise number (1562) so that the police could invite him for a confrontation at the station.
